Bluebirds in the Forest HomeSchool Day for ages 5.5-7
with Beth Anne Moonstone, Environmental Educator, Naturalist, Permaculture Gardener

Spring Session: 9 weeks, Fridays 9:30am-2pm, March 31st through May 26th 2017 ages 5.5-7
Cost is $425.  ($225. is due as a deposit to hold your space and the remaining balance is due March 31st 2017)
There is some flexibility in our age range. A young child who is mature and ready for group work or a slightly older child who prefers a younger crowd might be a good fit. If you have questions about the age range please drop me an email. beth@peacefrog.org

Our Spring Session theme are Forest Animals.

In order to make our day together as enjoyable as possible for everyone please only sign your child up if they want to be here and want to be working in a group. This will be a small group class that will allow us to really focus on our work together and remain flexible to the mood and energy level of the class from week to week. Also make sure our drop off and pick up time work for your family. It is important for the flow of our day that everyone is present at least 5 minutes before class starts and everyone is picked up on time.

This class takes place in my home in Amherst, MA. I have a 500 square foot yurt that will be our classroom. We will also visit the conservation area at Amethyst Brook during the morning of every class session and play in the yard here. This is my home, not a school. I am a homeschooling mother of a 16 year old son and have 3 older adults (2 adult children and my future daughter in-law) that live in my household. Some portion of my family may be here at the house on class days. My 16 year old son, Atreyu, will occasionally be our classroom assistant and helper.

I have been homeschooling my own children and offering classes for homeschooling students for the last 16 years. During that time I have taught preschool age kids, a Forest Kindergarten, math, science, language arts and history all the way up through high school. I have also worked as an adjunct professor at Greenfield Community College teaching natural history and ecology and worked with STEM students in the science lab. I have a strong interest in ecological literacy, experiential learning and interdisciplinary learning.
